【摘要】:ThesetestmethodsdescribetheuseoftheKarlFischer(KF)titrationfordeterminationofwaterinhalogenatedorganicsolventsandmixturesthereof.Waterconcentrationsfrom2to1000ppmcanbedeterminedinthesesolvents.Twotestmethodsarecoveredasfollows:TestMethodA,WaterDeterminationUsingaCoulometricKFTitratorThecoulometrictestmethodisknownforitshighdegreeofsensitivity(typically10gH2O)andshouldbethetestmethodofchoiceifwaterconcentrationsaretypicallybelow50ppmorifonlysmallamountsofsampleareavailableforwaterdeterminations.Thistestmethodrequirestheuseofequipmentspecificallydesignedforcoulometrictitrations.TestMethodB,WaterDeterminationUsingaVolumetricKFTitratorThevolumetrictestmethodisamoretraditionalapproachtoKFwaterdeterminations.AlthoughtitratorsarespecificallydesignedforKFvolumetricdeterminations,manyautomatictitratorsonthemarketcanbeadaptedtoperformKFtitrations.Eitherofthesetestmethodscanbeusedtodeterminetypicalwaterconcentrations(15to500ppm)foundinhalogenatedsolvents.1.3ThesetestmethodsrecommendtheuseofcommerciallyavailableKarlFischertitratorsandreagents.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSections11and15.
