【摘要】:Thewatervaportransportpropertiesoftextilematerialsareofconsiderableimportanceindeterminingthecomfortpropertiesofclothingsystems.Watervaportransportthroughporoustextilesmayoccurduetobothdiffusion(drivenbyvaporconcentrationdifferences)andconvection(drivenbygaspressuredifferences).Forairpermeableporousmaterials,averysmallpressuregradientcanproducelargeconvectiveflowsthroughtheporesinthestructure.Inmanystandardwatervaporpermeabilitytestmethods,whenusedformaterialswithhighairpermeability,slightvariationsinpressuregradientacrossaspecimenwillgreatlyinfluencethemeasuredwatervaportransportproperties.Therefore,thewatervaportransportpropertiesoftheporousandnon-poroustextilematerialscannotbedirectlycomparedwhenthemethodhasnoprovisionforcontrollingthepressuregradient.Thistestmethoddeterminesthediffusionandconvectionpropertiesfromthesametestandgeneratesdatathatallowsdirectcomparisonoftheresultsobtainedbetweenmaterials.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthemoisturevaportransportandgasflowpropertiesoffabrics,membranes,andmembranelaminatesusedforprotectivematerials.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thewater-breaktestasdescribedinthistestmethodisnondestructiveandmaybeusedforcontrolandevaluationofprocessesfortheremovalofhydrophobiccontaminants.Thetestmayalsobeusedforthedetectionandcontrolofhydrophobiccontaminantsinprocessingambients.Forthisapplication,asurfacefreeofhydrophobicfilmsisexposedtotheambientandsubsequentlytested.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedetectionofthepresenceofhydrophobic(nonwetting)filmsonsurfacesandthepresenceofhydrophobicorganicmaterialsinprocessingambients.Whenproperlyconducted,thetestwillenabledetectionofmolecularlayersofhydrophobicorganiccontaminants.Onveryroughorporoussurfaces,thesensitivityofthetestmaybesignificantlydecreased.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundvaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
