【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesthedesignofaguardedhotplatewithcircularline-heatsourcesandprovidesguidanceindeterminingthemeantemperatureofthemeterplate.Itprovidesinformationandcalculationproceduresfor:(1)controlofedgeheatlossorgain(AnnexA1);(2)locationandinstallationofline-heatsources(AnnexA2);(3)designofthegapbetweenthemeterandguardplates(AppendixX1);and(4)locationofheaterleadsforthemeterplate(AppendixX2).Acircularguardedhotplatewithoneormoreline-heatsourcesisamenabletomathematicalanalysissothatthemeansurfacetemperaturecanbecalculatedfromthemeasuredpowerinputandthemeasuredtemperature(s)atoneormoreknownlocations.Further,acircularplategeometrysimplifiesthemathematicalanalysisoferrorsresultingfromheatgainsorlossesattheedgesofthespecimens(seeRefs(10,11)).Inpractice,itiscustomarytoplacetheline-heatsource(s)inthemeterplateataprescribedradiussuchthatthetemperatureattheouteredgeofthemeterplateisequaltothemeansurfacetemperatureoverthemeterarea.Thus,thedeterminationofthemeantemperatureofthemeterplatecanbeaccomplishedwithasmallnumberoftemperaturesensorsplacednearthegap.Aguardedhotplatewithoneormoreline-heatsourceswillhavearadialtemperaturevariation,withthemaximumtemperaturedifferencesbeingquitesmallcomparedtotheaveragetemperaturedropacrossthespecimens.Providedguardingisadequate,onlythemeansurfacetemperatureofthemeterplateentersintocalculationsofthermaltransmissionproperties.Caremustbetakentodesignacircularline-heat-sourceguardedhotplatesothattheelectric-currentleadstoeachheatereitherdonotsignificantlyalterthetemperaturedistributionsinthemeterandguardplatesorelseaffectthesetemperaturedistributionsinaknownwaysothatappropriatecorrectionscanbemade.Theuseofoneorafewcircularline-heatsourcesinaguardedhotplatesimplifiesconstructionandrepair.Forroom-temperatureoperation,theplatesaretypicallyofone-piecemetalconstructionandthusareeasilyfabricatedtotherequiredthicknessandflatness.Thedesignofthegapisalsosimplified,relativetogapdesignsfordistributed-heat-sourcehotplates.Inthesingle-sidedmodeofoperation(seePracticeC1044),thesymmetryoftheline-heat-sourcedesignintheaxialdirectionminimizeserrorsduetoundesiredheatflowacrossthegap.1.1Thispracticecoversthedesignofacircularline-heat-sourceguardedhotplateforuseinaccordancewithTestMethodC177.Note18212;TestMethodC177describestheguarded-hot-plateapparatusandtheapplicationofsuchequipmentfordeterminingthermaltransmissionpropertiesofflat-slabspecimens.Inprinciple,thetestmethodincludesapparatusdesignedwithguardedhotplateshavingeitherdistributed-orline-heatsources.1.2Theguardedhotplatewithcircularline-heatsourcesisadesigninwhichthemeterandguardplatesarecircularplateshavingarelativelysmallnumberofheaters,eachembeddedalongacircularpathatafixedradius.Inoperation,theheatfromeachline-heatsourceflowsradiallyintotheplateandistransmittedaxiallythroughthetestspecimens.1.3Themeterandguardplatesarefabricatedfromacontinuouspieceofthermallyconduc......
