【摘要】:ThispartofISO4524providesproceduresforconductingmixedflowinggas(MFG)environmentaltestsinvolvingexposurestocontrolledquantitiesofcorrosivegasmixtures.Itdescribestherequiredequipmentandthemethodsforgas,temperatureandhumiditycontrolthatenableteststobeconductedinareproduciblemanner.Reproducibilityismeasuredthroughtheuseofcontrolcouponsthecorrosionfilmsofwhichareevaluatedbymassgain,coulometryorbyvariouselectronandX-raybeamanalysistechniques.Reproducibilitycanalsobemeasuredbyinsitucorrosionratemonitorsusingelectricalresistanceormassfrequencychangemethods.MFGtestscanbeusedto:—evaluatenovelelectricalcontactmetallizationforsusceptibilitytodegradationduetoenvironmentalexposuretothetestcorrosivegases;—evaluatetheshieldingcapabilityofconnectorhousingsthatmayactasabarriertotheingressofcorrosivegases;—evaluatethesusceptibilityofotherconnectormaterialssuchasplastichousingstodegradationfromthetestcorrosivegases.MFGtestsarenotnormally:—usedasporositytests(forguidanceonporositytesting,seeISO10308,Metalliccoatings—reviewofporositytests);—applicablewherethefailuremechanismisotherthanpollutantgascorrosionsuchasintin-coatedseparablecontacts.
