【摘要】:Thistestmethodisastandardprocedurefordeterminingwaterleakagethroughmetalroofpanelsystemsideseams,endlaps,androofplanepenetrationswhentheroofsystemissubjectedtoaspecifiedstaticwaterpressurehead.Note28212;Inapplyingtheresultsoftestsbythismethod,notethattheperformanceofarooforitscomponentsorboth,isinpartafunctionofproperinstallationandadjustment.Inservice,theperformancewillalsodependontheintegrityofthesupportingconstruction,roofslope,andontheresistanceofcomponentstodeteriorationbyvariouscauses:corrosiveatmosphere,aging,ice,vibration,thermalcycling,etc.Itisdifficulttosimulatetheidenticalcomplexwetting,agingandothervariableconditionsthatcanbeencounteredinservice,includingwind-blownpondedwater,theeffectsoftemperatureandageonsealantperformance,differentialpressureacrossthejointsduetowind,snowandiceaccumulation,densificationandmigration,andabrasionswithinthejointcomponentswhichmayoccurduringthermalcyclingandotherweatherevents.Somejointconditionsaremoresensitivethanotherstothesefactors.Thistestmethodwillevaluatetheresistanceofroofpanels,sideseams,endlaps,androofplanepenetrationstowatersubmersion.Itwillnotevaluatepanelresistancetowinddrivenrain.Note38212;SeeE1646foratestwhichevaluatesresistancetowinddrivenrain.Thistestmethodisnotastructuraladequacytest.Thistestmethodisapplicabletosingleskinmetalpanels,theexteriorskinoffactoryassembledcompositepanels,andtheexteriorskinoffieldassembledcompositesystemsaslongasmeanscanbeprovidedtodistinguishleakagethroughtheexteriorpanelsideseams/endlapsandperimeterleakage.1.1ThisLaboratorytestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheresistancetowaterpenetrationofexteriormetalroofpanelsystemsideseams,endlaps,androofplanepenetrationswhenaspecifiedstaticwaterpressureheadisappliedtotheoutsidefaceoftheroofpanel.Note1Thistestmethodisintendedtoevaluatewater-barrier(notwater-shedding)roofsystemjointsanddetails.Thesesystemsarealsoreferredtoashydrostaticroofsystems.1.2Thistestmethodislimitedtospecimensinwhichthesideseamsandattachmentsareclearlyvisibleandinwhichthesourceofleakageisreadilyobservable.1.3Thistestmethodexcludesperformanceatroofperimeterconditions.1.4Thistestmethodissuitableforevaluatingleakageatroofplanepenetrationssuchasfasteners,curbs,pipesandexpansionjointsunderastaticwaterpressurehead.1.5Theproperuseofthistestmethodrequiresaknowledgeoftheprinciplesofwaterpressure.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIequivalentsofinch-poundunitsareapproximate.1.7Thetextofthisstandardincludesnotesandfootnotesexcludingtablesandfigures,whichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotesshallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection.
